Sub.:Regarding undemocratic, unconstitutional orders of the Education Department contrary to BSU Act, Statutes as well as against the constitutional provisions/liberty granted under fundamental rights.

Sir,
While enclosing herewith a copy of memorandum dated- 19.12.2023 alongwith its enclosures, I am directed to say that a delegation of as many as 25 Members of the Legislative Council (M.L.Cs) met the Hon’ble Governor on 19.12.2023 and handed over a joint memorandum on the subject mentioned above.
The Hon’ble Members have unanimously condemned and expressed protest against the orders contained in the aboved referred letters of the Higher Education Department as they perceive the orders to be unconstitutional, autocratical as well as violation of the privileges granted to them under Article 194 of the Constitution of India.
As such, they have made appeal to the Hon’ble Governor for cancellation of the above referred letters of the Education Department inter alia suitable action against the concerned officials.
The Hon’ble Governor has considered all the above mentioned issues and has expressed that by such acts it seems the Education Department is bent upon destroying the academic environment in the State and has therefore directed me to request you to take corrective measures immediately.
