Brief Bio-data of Prof. Abha Singh

Dr. Abha Singh is Professor and Head, University Department of Philosophy, Patliputra University, Patna, Bihar. She returned from Mauritius in August 2018 after completing one and a-half years’ assignment as ICCR Chair, Indian Philosophy and Sanskrit, at Mahatma Gandhi Institute, Moka, Mauritius. She earned Gold Medal for Post-Graduate degree, apart from Ph. D. and D. Litt in 1986 and 2003 respectively. She has been lecturing and tutoring to post-graduate and under- graduate students for last 37 years, and has also delivered several Specialized Lectures at various fora (national and international). Dr. Singh has participated in more than 80 national and international seminars, conferences and symposiums, and has presented papers therein. She is the recipient of a Residential Fellowship from ICPR, New Delhi, and has completed three research projects duly sponsored by UGC and ICPR as well. She is the Editor of one research journal and is on Editorial Board of four research journals, as well as Reviewer of international journal, namely Journal of Indian Council of Philosophical Research. She has organized four National Seminars and one International Conference. She has more than 70 research papers published in Indian Philosophy, Buddhist Studies, Metaphysics and Ethics to her credit– several of them have been indexed in the ‘Philosopher’s Index’, U.S.A., as well as ‘Bibliographique de Philosophie’, Belgium. She is a contributor in the forthcoming Encyclopaedia being published by Bloomsbury Publishing plc, London. Moreover, she has three books to her credit. She is currently engaged in promoting women’s empowerment and Indian Philosophy.
